Success Story on Cassava Agriculture Club at Kuleu Lights Academy
The school club for Agriculture in kuleu lights Academy have planted cassava and sweet potatoes as part of the Garden that is meant to Supplement the feeding program provided by CODAID through WFP.
In July CODAID School Feeding Protect initiated formation of the schools’ clubs as way of motivating learners to practice Agriculture also to attract them come to school, clubs were formed in various schools of Kapoeta North and South and Kuleu Light is inclusive the members of the club also planted vegetables such as Eggplant, Sukuma, Tomatoes and pumpkin as well as mango tress around the Garden. This will help for fruits and give enough shade for the school. This is the first of its kind that the school formed Agriculture Clubs, planting of cassava and sweet potatoes, this helps other pupils also learn, says “Augustine Lodai the Teacher responsible for Agriculture in Kuleu Lights Academy” last month CODAID school feeding team Distributed Cassava stem to the schools that have already established the Kitchen Garden. They are urging the rest of the schools to also plant cassava in their gardens.
